Impact to You: Beginning Friday, January 26 Two Factor Authentication (Duo) will be required when accessing library resources needing PSH Access authentication, such as UpToDate, from off campus. Please log in with "hersheymed\YourPSHAccessID".
The login screen will change as follows:
If you are currently enrolled in Duo for access to other external facing applications, you can follow the steps outlined below when you login to library resources. You do not need to enroll in Duo again.
If you are not currently enrolled in Duo, you will need to enroll to continue your access to library resources. Visit the Duo site at https://duoenroll.pennstatehershey.net/ to enroll. After enrolling, follow the steps outlined in Actions when you login to library resources.
Step 1: Login to the Application
Login to library resources using your enterprise credentials.
Step 2: Authenticate with Duo
Select authentication method:
- Send Me a Push – an alert will be sent to your registered device.
- Call Me – an alert will be sent to your registered device.
- Enter a Passcode – generate a passcode on your registered device for entry into the passcode field. This option is particularly useful when you don’t have a strong wireless signal.
Details: Information Technology is extending Two Factor Authentication (Duo), which is already in use by several applications such as Remote Access Portal, to all external facing applications. This additional layer of authentication will assist us in our continued effort to protect Penn State Health information and information systems.
