Explanation of Request Statuses

WHAT DOES THE STATUS OF MY REQUEST MEAN?

Penn State's Interlibrary Loan management system, ILLiad, uses various statuses to track Interlibrary Loan requests. These statuses may be used to pinpoint the exact location of any given item at any given time. They reflect your actions in the process as well as those of library staff.

Annex
Your request is being processed by staff at the Libraries Annexes, which are off-site storage facilities.

Awaiting CCL Processing
Your request was routed to staff who process requests for patrons who are not located at University Park.

Awaiting Copyright Clearance
Your article request is awaiting copyright processing to determine if any copyright fees need to be paid.

Awaiting Request Processing
Your request is through the copyright clearance process, if necessary, and is now ready to be searched and requested from potential libraries. From here it may be routed to various staff for processing. You will see different staff names in this status.

Awaiting Document Delivery Processing
Your request was routed to staff who will supply the item from collections at Penn State. Faculty and staff may request articles located in print journals at any library location. All other patrons can request articles from print journals not held at their local campus.

Awaiting ALA Processing
Your requested item cannot be requested via the OCLC WorldCat system. It will be processed as an ALA (American Library Association) request and sent via fax or email to a potential lender.

Awaiting Annex Processing
Your request was sent to one of the Libraries’ Annex locations for processing. Either you used the “Annexed Items” request form or staff transferred the request upon seeing the Annexes hold your requested book or journal title.

Awaiting Customer Contact
Your requested item has arrived and is ready for you. However, the email notification has not yet been sent to notify you the item is available. There may be some delayed timing if your pickup location is not Pattee/Paterno which is close to the interlibrary loan office. It takes a day or two to ship items to another Penn State branch or campus library.

Awaiting Post Receipt Processing
Your requested item has arrived from the lending library. Interlibrary Loan staff are preparing the item for you, such as placing a book band on it or if an article, posting it to your ILLiad account.

Awaiting Return Label Processing
You returned your requested item. Interlibrary Loan staff are in the process of shipping the item back to the lending library.

Bill Patron
The item you received and checked out is overdue. If you don’t return the item soon, you will be billed $100 plus a $25 processing fee and your ILLiad and CAT accounts will be blocked.

Cancelled By Customer
You cancelled this request and no longer want the requested item. You cancelled the request from the “transaction information” page of the item. “Cancel Request” option is located under “View – Outstanding Requests” selection from the ILLiad left menu bar. If you still want this item, choose "Resubmit Request."

Cancelled By ILL Staff
Your request was cancelled by Interlibrary Loan staff. You should have received an email message explaining why the item was cancelled. If you are unsure why the request was cancelled, you can contact ILL staff by using the ASK! button on the right. Please include the transaction number with your question.

Checked Out to Customer
Your requested item arrived, was processed by interlibrary loan staff, and is checked out to you. Until the item's status is changed to 'Item Checked In', you are responsible for the item.

Checked Out to Customer – Special Collec
Your requested item arrived, was processed by interlibrary loan staff, and is checked out to you. The lending library has requested that this item be kept in our Special Collections location. An email was sent to you explaining where the item is held for you to use. Until the item's status is changed to “Item Checked In” you are responsible for the item.

Claims Returned
You tell staff that you returned the item, but staff can’t find it. The request is placed in this status while you and staff look for the item. Interlibrary Loan staff will contact the lending library to see if they received it. You also should continue to look for it. Many patrons eventually find the item. Interlibrary Loan staff will be in contact with you via email concerning the item.

Customer Notified via E-Mail
Your requested item has arrived, has been processed by the ILL staff, and you were notified of its availability by email.

In DD Stacks Searching
Your request is currently being searched in the libraries' collection to be retrieved for copying or shipping.

Delivered to Web

Your request is currently being processed by staff at one of the Libraries' branch or campus locations.

Doc Del Item Not Found
Your requested item cannot be supplied by a Penn State library location. For example, the library does not have that particular issue or volume. Your request will be routed to another library location or sent to a lending library outside Penn State.

In Print Queue
Your requested item has arrived and has been partially processed by the ILL staff. It is currently awaiting the printing of its identification label.

In Return Address Print Queue
Your item has been returned to the Interlibrary Loan office, was checked in, and is awaiting the printing of its return address label.

Incorrect Item Received and Returned
An item was received that does not match the item you requested. It has been returned to the lender and the original item will be re-requested.

Item Checked In
Your item was returned and received by the ILL office. It will be returned to the lending library.

Your article request will be supplied as a loan from a journal or book owned by Penn State. You will receive an email when it is available for pickup.

You submitted many requests at one time. In order to process requests from all of our patrons, some of your requests are “on hold” while staff process other requests. Your requests will be processed, but not all at once.

Your requested article was shipped by a lending library and was automatically received by the ILLiad system and posted to your ILLiad account. You received an email about it being available for viewing.

Request In Processing
Your request is currently being processed by Interlibrary Loan staff.

Request Sent
Your request was sent to several owning libraries and Interlibrary Loan staff are waiting for a response.

Re-Submitted by Customer
Your request was cancelled by Interlibrary Loan staff, but you still want the item. Therefore, you used the “Resubmit Request” button from the “transaction information page” of the cancelled request.

Routed from Document Delivery
Your request was sent to a Penn State library location for them to supply, but that library did not have that particular issue or volume. Your request was routed to staff to send to a lending library outside Penn State.

Staff names instead of status
When you see a person's name instead of a status, that means an Interlibrary Loan staff member is currently processing your request.

SIRSI Billed
Your checked out item is long overdue. Therefore, you were charged $100 plus a $25 processing fee on your “My Library Account.” You are blocked in ILLiad, E-ZBorrow and the CAT from placing requests or using “I Want It.”

Submitted by Customer
Your request was received and is awaiting processing by the ILL staff. You can see the date and time you submitted the request to ILLiad on the “transaction information” page.

World
This request is from a World Campus or Distance Delivery patron and is awaiting processing by the ILL staff responsible for these patrons.

If you have questions regarding your status, contact Interlibrary Loan.
